Europe Ping Test

Ping any IP or domain from 6 servers across the Netherlands, France, Germany and England.

Measured on our own looking-glass servers.

This Europe ping test measures real ICMP latency, packet loss and jitter to any IP address or domain from six servers inside the European Union and the United Kingdom. The nodes sit in Amsterdam (three carriers), Paris, Frankfurt and London, four of the busiest peering hubs in Europe.

Use it to see how fast European visitors reach your server, whether your CDN is really answering from a nearby EU edge, or which European city gives your game server the lowest latency. Every row is a live ping, not an estimate.

What Is a Europe Ping Test?

A Europe ping test sends ICMP echo requests to one target from several European vantage points at the same time. Instead of measuring latency from your own computer, it shows what users in the Netherlands, France, Germany and the United Kingdom experience when they connect to your host.

European traffic is not uniform. A server in Frankfurt can be 5 ms from Amsterdam but 30 ms from Lisbon and 60 ms from Istanbul. Measuring from several European hubs reveals those differences in a single run.

What You Need to Run the Test

A valid target: an IPv4 address such as 8.8.8.8, or a domain name such as example.com. Each server resolves the domain independently.

An ICMP-reachable target. Hosts that block ping appear as unreachable even when their website works fine.

The quick test sends 4 packets from each of the 6 EU servers in a couple of seconds. That is enough for a snapshot; repeat the run at different times of day to see congestion patterns.

How to Run a Europe Ping Test

Enter the IP address or hostname you want to test from Europe.

Press Start EU Ping. All six servers ping your target in parallel, and table rows appear as answers arrive.

Read packet loss, average, minimum and maximum latency per node. The summary cards above the table show the fastest European location and the average across reachable nodes.

How to Use Your Europe Ping Results

Pick a hosting region: if Amsterdam and Frankfurt answer in 20 ms while London needs 70 ms, your audience is probably concentrated in the Benelux and Germany.

Verify EU CDN or DNS routing: a well-configured European edge should answer these hubs in under 30 ms.

Diagnose regional transit problems: packet loss on a single node usually points to one carrier or internet exchange, not your server.

Check game server placement: compare the lowest ping against the shard you actually play on.

When a Europe Ping Test Does Not Help

ICMP ping measures reachability and round-trip time, not application performance. It cannot explain a slow HTTPS handshake, a DNS lookup that takes two seconds, or a query that is only slow for logged-in users. Some firewalls block ICMP, so a perfectly healthy website can still show as unreachable here. These results also come from dedicated carrier networks, which are usually better peered than a residential ISP in the same city.

Europe Ping Test vs Global Ping Test

A Europe ping test concentrates on one continent with six nodes, which is the right choice when your users are European and you want a fast, detailed regional view. The global ping test spreads its nodes across Europe and Australia and plots every result on a world map, which is better for intercontinental comparisons. Use the regional test to tune EU hosting and the global test to understand worldwide reachability.

Other Regional Ping Tests

  • US Ping Test — Ping any IP or domain from 4 servers in Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta and New York.
  • Americas Ping Test — Ping from New York, Vancouver and Sao Paulo to cover North and South America together.
  • Asia Ping Test — Ping any IP or domain from 6 Asian locations: Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Jakarta and Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Middle East Ping Test — Ping any IP or domain from 4 Middle East nodes in Israel and Iran.
  • Turkey Ping Test — Ping any IP or domain from 2 Istanbul servers on the bridge between Europe and Asia.
  • Australia Ping Test — Ping any IP or domain from our Sydney server to measure latency from Oceania.

Testing a host from several continents at once? The global ping test pings your target from all of our nodes and draws every result on a world map. For a single known host, the Quick Ping pages are faster.
